Roots

At least one part of my heritage has green fingers. This gift hasn't been lost on me.

When I moved to a dormitory I got some plants pretty soon. These were mostly flowers at the time. However, the care for these flowers was more of a hassle than a natural movement.

The whole experience thought me that green plants and trees were more of my strength.

Branching out

Once I got my own house, the scale increased. Now I had a front and backyard to care for.

At the start my spawn place got me plants, flowers and trees. Since I bought a minimum, and we planted most of the vegetation together. Caring was my primary task.

Over the years things changed, and I bought more and more myself. This even got to the point where I mentioned at the moment, I'm a self

Through this process, maintenance and care got combined with landscaping. This all came natural, and there weren't to many bumps in the road.

Another venue of plants was the adoption center at IKEA. After work there often was a rack with (dying) plants, and you could pick one, or sometimes more.

During this period I made a lot of adoptions some of which are still with me today.

This gave me more experience with a large variety of plants including some flowers.

During one summer I started germinating seeds, I gathered these from produce I bought in the supermarket. This was a successful endeavor and today I still have one tree that grew from those seeds. This spring (2021) I've started germinating seeds again and have two successes so far.

Two pearls

Since fall 2021 a pearl got handed to me. After inquiring for voluntary work at the local community center, they told me they were looking for a gardener. This garden is about three blocks from my home so that was a score.
The garden did need some work, but after a half year or so it has come along quite well, and I'm proud of the results

This garden offers lots of space for personal development. Since it's a community garden there is also a social aspect which is challenging, but educational as well.

More recently around summer 2023, I got involved in a recreational area in the neighborhood. This one turned forest pretty quick, moreover it has two balconies, on which we‘re still building.

My own garden hasn't fallen into neglect and is blooming up quite well.
